Overall, The Last Days of Disco is a slyly comedic and thoroughly riveting social satire. For this and many other reasons, The Last Days of Disco is a brilliant exercise and an even better character study into these broken, envious, fake, human beings who like to present a facade of themselves that bears no resemblance with reality. Two beautiful recent college graduates played by Kate Beckinsale (Underworld) and Chle Sevigny (Big Love) escape to the most popular. The Last Days of Disco Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance Actor: Chlo Sevigny, Kate Beckinsale, Chris Eigeman, Mackenzie Astin, Matt Keeslar, Robert Sean. Story of two female Manhattan book editors fresh out of college, both finding love and themselves while frequenting. At times, Stillman's packed dialogue filled with wordy attempts at brilliance can come off as awkward or pretentious, but in reality, they are astute critique of the type of individuals who say these types of things. LAST DAYS OF DISCO MOVIE
The movie is set in the waning days of disco, a party that was about to end for all.(By the way, we make fun of John Travolta for all the bad movies he has made while Olivia Newton-John is still cool because she has been on "Glee" twice.) I could have tolerated the movie's sour tone if it had not been so excessively talky on every single subject under the sun and there had been more of a plot which sneaks in just under the wire. The Last Days of Disco is a fantastic om director Whit Stillman. Writer-director-producer Whit Stillman tries in vain with "The Last Days of Disco" to have something intelligent to say about the transition stage from college to first job, as these characters are in the process of moving on from friends they barely like to spouses they tolerate just enough to not kill them in their sleep. The film follows Alice Kinnon (Sevigny) and Charlotte Pingress (Beckinsale), two young women in the early 1980s who are Hampshire College graduates and work in. At the end of the night, Alice goes home with Tom(Robert Sean Leonard). The Last Days of Disco shows a very strange set of relationships that unfortunately are true to life since a lot of times we tend to make friends with. Last Days of Disco is the latest addition to Claphams burgeoning nightlife scene bringing you all the ingredients for a night youll never forget.
Des also thinks he is gay after watching an episode of Wild Kingdom.(Not "Animal Kingdom" which I'll be reviewing next.) Regardless, Josh(Matt Keeslar, of "The Middleman"), an ADA, thinks the whole scene is cool. During the early 1980s as the Disco era comes to an end, a pair of recent Hampshire College grads move to Manhattan and are befriended by a group of Harvard grads. Des(Chris Eigeman), a manager at the club, is under pressure not to admit Jimmy(Mackenzie Astin) because he is in advertising and therefore scum. In "The Last Days of Disco," Alice(Chloe Sevigny) and Charlotte(Kate Beckinsale) are two comely editorial assistants who are admitted into a trendy club every night on looks alone.
